Ice cream and chocolate! Yum!

Surf City Soup & Smoothie

Very Good
Excellent fat-free smoothies made with fruit, juice, and a "special smoothie mix" (soy milk). Also a wide variety of soups for those cold evenings. My only complaint is that some of the fruit is canned, not fresh, but it's right there in front of you, so just choose what looks good. Special recommendations: Papaya Peach Smoothie, the Chicken & Corn Chowder.

Smoothies $3-6, soups $3-7. Smoothies can get even more expensive if you pile on the extras (e.g. protein powder, bee pollen, ginseng, etc.).  (2005-07-18)

Mary's Dairy

Good
Ate here only once. Seemed to be good, with many exotic combinations of icecream and extras.  (2006-01-07)

Australian Homemade

Curious
I swear, I walked past this place a dozen times before I knew that it served deserts. Really, the logo looks like a travel agency for Australian Air Lines, doesn't it?

But, in fact, they serve ice cream and chocolates. The chololates come in small squares with soft middles and with Aboriginal art designs printed on the top. The ice cream is good, I tried several varieties. My only complaint is that they don't really know how to make milkshakes (I tried to order a "Black and White" - but they really only have strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla).

Oh, and also they seem a bit expensive (from what I remember).  (2006-03-28)

Max Brenner - Chocolate by the Bald Man

Excellent
Really, the place has the feeling of an opium den. You enter and are seated by a wait staff which is clearly over stimulated, you are given some chocolates to eat right away, and then it's just more chocolates and sinful deserts than you can imagine. If you love chocolate, it's wonderful, and oh so decadant. I love that they serve chocolate in little chem-lab beakers.

Oh, and I guess they have other food too... though I barely noticed it.  (2007-11-03)
